Positive news on the Dyfi catchment. Over in Llanbrynmair the road salt was removed and the river can now hopefully replenish itself and aquatic species can recover.

As part of Wales Nature Week we attended a series of events. The last event was over in Ruthin with the Bionet partnership. We had a great day educating all about our most vulnerable species, natural flood management and what you can put down the toilet.

We spent Saturday on the Menai Strait at the Conservation Cymru Festival. We shared our thoughts on the endangered species in Wales and what we can all do at home to protect them. 

North Wales Rivers Trust win national award from the Angling Trust for water quality.

Natural Resources Wales is today responding to an incident at Afon Wygyr, Cemaes Bay, Anglesey. NRW staff are onsite investigating what we believe to be a slurry incident which could affect bathing water quality in the short term and has resulted in a number of dead fish.

Last Monday, the community of Betws Y Coed gathered for a vital meeting focused on exploring ways to actively engage in the protection and conservation of rivers in North Wales. The meeting was an inspiring display of community spirit, with passionate individuals coming together to discuss strategies for safeguarding our natural water resources.

Wales' largest water company has been downgraded for the second year running after a rise in pollution incidents. Welsh Water caused 89 sewage pollution incidents in 2022, five of which were classed as "having a high or significant impact". Natural Resources Wales (NRW) reduced the company's rating of three stars to two stars, meaning it "requires improvement".
