Llyn maelog floating wetland updates

Since the successful installation of our first Floating Wetland into Llyn Maelog, the community have hit the ground running by forming a monitoring group and getting together to complete a litter clean up.

Community Monitoring Group

This group will be running our river hub, conducting water quality testing, habitat surveys and more! Throughout August there will be a range of different training opportunities for the group, including a visit to the wetland via SUP or Kayak.

Litter Clean Up

In collaboration with Cafe Notos, we had 18 volunteers carry out a litter clean up around Rhosneigr estuary and Llyn Maelog. It was a great effort and the volunteers cleared lots of rubbish, having a fantastic immediate impact on the local environment.

Over the next month we have lots of great opportunities to get involved with the project such as wetland monitoring via SUP, wildlife surveys and water quality testing.
