As part of our ongoing Swimways project, we recently held an exciting snorkel training day at Plas Menai. This workshop was designed to upskill our dedicated volunteers, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to explore and monitor underwater habitats across North Wales.

Throughout the training participants learned essential snorkeling techniques and safety protocols. The training also emphasised the importance of snorkel surveys in understanding the connectivity between freshwater and marine ecosystems—a core focus of the Swimways project.

By the end of the session, all of our volunteers had met the criteria and can now go onto take part in snorkel surveys with confidence.
