Exploring Conservation and Creativity at Ysgol Bro Hedd Wyn

As part of our Fresh Water Pearl Mussel Project we have been working with Ysgol Bro Hedd Wyn, a local primary school to engage the pupils in the project and to help us raise awareness for this endangered species that lives right on their doorstep!

A special educational morning was planned which focused on educating pupils further on the life cycles of Fresh Water Pearl Mussels and what can be done to improve their habitat.

Pupils were also shown an animation, which you to can view below!

Following the animation, students brainstormed ideas for a storybook aimed at raising awareness about freshwater pearl mussels and the importance of preserving North Wales' rivers. They even produced some amazing art work!

By the end of the morning, students had learnt lots and were excited for the next session of developing their storybook.
