120 more trees planted along the Afon Eden

Over the weekend, we were joined by Bangor University students for a community tree planting day. Together we planted a further 120 native trees along the Afon Eden, as part of our Fresh Water Pearl Mussel Project.

The trees planted included Grey Willow, Sessile Oak, Downy Birch and Elder. The tree species were carefully chosen to ensure they would thrive in the local climate and contribute to biodiversity in addition to matching the surrounding native species.

The students also conducted a habitat survey and assisted in water quality testing, actively collecting data to advance our ongoing research on the Afon Eden.
