Afon Gallen Easement Improvement

We carried out significant improvement to a historic easement that will allow fish passage over a wider range of flows. We added boulders to improve access to 8km of spawning headwaters. Over 100 tonnes of boulders were added to the rock-ramp structure to strengthen the pools and a large tree and debris was removed from the upstream fall. This will result in a slower flow of water, preventing flooding further down stream, providing protection for spawning fish and allowing fish passage.
