Ysgol Waunfawr welcome the Torgoch!

Pupils in Ysgol Waunfawr had a very exciting delivery this morning-The Torgoch eggs! These eggs have been carefully growing away over christmas in the SGLL Angling club hatchery in Crawia. The eggs were ready on Monday to be delivered into the classroom by North Wales Rivers Trust chairman Robin Parry.

The eggs settling into their new home for the next three weeks.

The eggs will hatch in to alevins over the next two weeks and live off their yolk sacks. When they are ready to turn into fry pupils will release them into the wilds of Llyn Padarn.

This is a very exciting project that allows pupils to understnd the importance of water quality, biodiversity and protecting the heritage of some of our most vulnerable species over in Eryri. Watch out for updates over the next few weeks!
