Floating Wetland to be installed late June

Exciting updates for our Floating Wetland project! We are thrilled to announce that the plans for the installation into Llyn Maelog have been confirmed for the end of June.

Currently, the plants designated for the wetland are being cultivated in a bio-secure centre. This careful preparation ensures that the plants are healthy and ready to thrive once they are assembled into our floating wetland.

These plants will play a crucial role in our efforts to understand how to tackle blue-green algae levels and lower nutrient concentrations in the water. Once installed, the effectiveness of these plants in improving water quality will be carefully monitored and measured.

Any interested parties are welcome to come along and see the wetland being assembled and launched into Llyn Maelog. As the installation timing is dependent on factors such as weather, the exact date and time is still to be confirmed. Please contact poppy@northwalesriverstrust.org if you would like to come along.

This project is funded by LNP Cymru, Cyngor Sir Ynys Mon and WCVA
