This month, the Menai Strait Partnership team spread the message of our #LoveTheMenai campaign through the participation in several community events to raise awareness about the importance of the Menai Strait and the need to protect it.

Our team was thrilled to be part of Gŵyl Bangor, a vibrant local festival celebrating the spirit and culture of Bangor, as well as the Menai Seafood Festival, which highlights the rich marine life and culinary traditions of the region. Both events provided us with fantastic opportunities to engage with the public and share our message.

In addition to these events, we set up a pop-up station on Garth Pier, a historic landmark and popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Here, we engaged directly with members of the community, sharing information about the #LoveTheMenai campaign, discussing the challenges facing the Menai Strait, and encouraging everyone to get involved. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors expressing their support and interest in preserving this unique and beautiful area.

As a direct result of our outreach efforts this month, we are proud to announce that over 10 local businesses have joined the #LoveTheMenai campaign, showing their commitment to protecting the Menai Strait. These businesses are now partners in our cause, helping to spread the word and promote sustainable practices that benefit the Strait's ecosystem.

Furthermore, we have established a dedicated core group of volunteers who are now regularly testing the water quality of the Menai Strait. This ongoing monitoring is crucial for tracking the health of the waters and identifying any potential issues that could harm the delicate marine environment. Our volunteers' commitment and hard work are vital components of our strategy to safeguard the Strait for future generations.
