The Floating Wetland has arrived

The Wetland modules being secured ready for plug planting.

Today the Biomatrix water team arrived on site at Llyn Maelog to begin the floating wetland build. Today the team managed to secure all of the modules together to create the platform. Tomorrow we begin by planting up the wetland with a series of native wetland plants. Don’t forget everyone is invited to join us on Wednesday community day on the 26th of June to plant up the wetland with a mix of wetland plants.

This is part of our pilot study looking into the feasibility of using floating wetlands as a secondary measure to tackle cyanobacteria levels in lakes. You can find out more about the science and ideas behind the project here-

The modules arriving on site ready to be built into a larger platform.
