Staff Upskilled with Freshwater Pearl Mussel Training

Last month Elis one of our River Restoration officers attended a freshwater pearl mussel training course with Trex Ecology and Natural Resources Wales to learn more about this fascinating rare species.

The North Wales Rivers Trust have been working to improve habitat and water quality on the Afon Eden for Freshwater Pearl Mussels and migratory fish for a number of years through funding from Local Nature Partnerships and Eryri National Park.

This training was a next step in leveling up our work and has upskilled staff in surveying, ecology and restoration techniques that will help inform upcoming work.
