River Restoration Round Up

This month, our restoration team has delivered a series of habitat improvements. Thanks to funding from Natural Resources Wales through the Inland Fisheries Habitat Restoration and Mitigation programmes.

Our recent efforts focused on reducing livestock impacts, limiting bank erosion, and giving rivers more shade and structure. As these young trees grow, they’ll support biodiversity, provide natural flood management benefits, and help shape healthier rivers for the long term.

Three schemes were completed on the Afon Cegin, Afon Wen, Afon Gwyrfai and the Afon Wnion. All three schemes excluded livestock from the river by fencing and the new riparian buffer strips planted with native trees.
