Discover the Secret Life of the European Eel – Join Our Upcoming Webinar

The European eel is one of the most fascinating and mysterious species in our rivers. From its remarkable migration to the many challenges it faces in freshwater habitats, the eel has a story unlike any other fish in our waterways.

On Tuesday 24th March, from 18:00–19:00, the North Wales Rivers Trust will be hosting an online webinar exploring the incredible life cycle of the European eel and some of the reasons why this species is now critically endangered. We’ll take a closer look at how eels use rivers across North Wales, the barriers they face during migration, and the work being done to support their recovery.

This session will also introduce our eel project, where we’ll share exciting opportunities for volunteers and community members to get involved. From helping with monitoring to supporting practical conservation work, there will be several ways for people to contribute to protecting this remarkable species.

Whether you’re already passionate about freshwater wildlife or simply curious about one of the most unusual fish in our rivers, this webinar will offer a great introduction to eel conservation and how you can play a part.
