Fly Fishing- Rhydd Ddu
The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the fish were biting at our recent fly fishing session at Rhydd Ddu. Our second ‘Cast A Line’ session hosted this Saturday by the Seiont, Gwyrfai and Llyfni angling club. The club provided expert instruction on fly fishing techniques and discussions on invasive species.
Invasive species can cause significant harm to our rivers and lakes, and it's essential to check, clean, and dry your equipment before moving to another body of water. To help with this, the North Wales Wildlife Trust provided biosecurity kits to all participants.
These sessions are crucial for engaging the public in river restoration and protection. By learning proper fishing techniques and understanding the importance of invasive species management, we can all play a role in preserving our natural habitats.
Collaborations between the North Wales Wildlife Trust and North Wales Rivers Trust make these sessions possible.
Overall, our fly fishing session was a fantastic day out, full of learning and appreciation for our natural surroundings. We encourage anyone interested in fishing or river restoration to get involved and participate in our upcoming events. We have Betws- Y- Coed tommorow and our final sessions at Trawsfynnydd Lake with the Prysor anglers next Saturday.
