Businesses pledge to help north wales rivers

Our River Champions Business scheme empowers businesses to take meaningful steps towards becoming more 'river-friendly.' By implementing straightforward changes, such as choosing safer cleaning products, reducing water consumption, and raising community awareness, businesses across North Wales are making impressive strides in supporting healthier rivers!

This month, we're thrilled to spotlight some of our newest River Champion Businesses and the great work they're doing.

Dimensions Health Store, Bangor

Statistics have shown that more than 40% of plastics are used once and then thrown away. This is why Dimensions store offer a wide range of zero-waste dried goods in handy dispensers, alongside organic and local loose veggies and various household and body-care refills.

They want to dispel the idea that living a more organic, natural lifestyle is expensive. So by using their zero-waste refills to reduce your plastic consumption, you can save money and help the planet too.

Domu Coffee House and Tea Salon

Domu Coffee House in Bangor was founded by two people passionate about quality coffee and wholesome food. With UK hospitality generating over one million tonnes of food waste annually, Domu is committed to doing things differently and operate a ‘zero- waste’ policy.

They serve single-estate beans, hand-blended on site, and prepare food fresh each day, using simple, unprocessed ingredients to minimise waste. Their cakes, made by Sveta using traditional recipes passed down from her Babooshka, bring a touch of heritage to the menu. Raised vegetarian, the founders ensure that Domu is 100% vegetarian, creating a sustainable, welcoming space where quality and care come first.

Surf Cafe Rhosneigr

Surf Café is a laid-back spot right on the Rhosneigr beachfront, offering the perfect blend of great food, community spirit, and a love for the surf lifestyle. Known for its freshly prepared food and relaxed atmosphere, the café is a favourite for locals and visitors alike.

With a great sense of community around it we look forward to collaborating with Surf Cafe on community events like clean ups in the near future!
