Afon Eden Wildlife Survey & Water Quality Monitoring

As part of the NWRT Freshwater Pearl Mussel project we are looking for a core group of volunteers who can conduct monthly monitoring of our site on the Afon Eden. The site is close to Trawsfynydd town.

Freshwater Pearl Mussel populations have been in decline, but thanks to the hard work of local organisations including ours there are signs that the habitat restoration work has been effective. We are now looking to closely monitor both the wildlife and the water quality onsite with help of volunteers.

The first session will be run on the evening of June 12th where individuals will learn how to conduct habitat surveys and water quality monitoring. Please note that access to the site requires the ability to walk 1km approx and navigate some uneven terrain.
