Role Summary

Job title: River Intern - Prosiect Torgoch

Location of job: Home based with regular working across North Wales Rivers.

Post holder reports to: Communications Manager

Salary: National Living Wage £12.21 per hour (6% employer pension contribution)

Position type: Fixed term contract starting as soon as possible until September 30th - 3 days per week

Working arrangements: Standard working hours are from 9:00 - 17:30 with some flexible and weekend working required.  Travel allowance will be provided

Overall purpose of the job:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team in a starter role to help you into a career in conservation. You will be working on projects that will make a real and lasting difference, helping save our rivers and the species that rely on them. 

We are seeking a River Intern – to support the Torgoch project. You will support our busy, active team out in the catchment and gain a taste of the full range and scope of river conservation work. 

You will assist with things like farm visits, wetland creation, woodland planting and river habitat restoration. You will be trained to undertake wildlife surveys and support scientific research through fieldwork and technical analysis. You will support our community engagement activities; inspiring children as you help with school workshops, and helping people get involved through volunteer tasks. You will help promote our work by writing about your experiences and sharing these reflections on our social media channels and website.

You must be aged 18 or over to apply for this role.

As this job involves regulated activity with children, an Enhanced DBS check will need to be undertaken by the successful candidate prior to employment. A criminal record is not necessarily a bar to employment with us. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis with support of HR specialists.
