inclusivity in the environmental sector

The environmental sector is the second least diverse after agriculture. As an environmental charity we are taking action to underpin why this is and what we can do to help in our catchment and beyond.

Earlier this summer we appointed Famke Brittles as our Lead DEI Officer. Famke, a recent graduate from Bangor University has been working to create a report which addresses some of the issues and barriers different communities face when accessing nature.

Through interviewing a series of individuals and key groups her findings will be collated into a report which can be shared with other organisations in the sector, later this year. The report will explore topics such as education, accessibility, discrimination in the work place and more.

Famke has devised a series of unique focus groups which will allow attendees to spend time in nature, hear about the project and share their experiences.

If you have any questions about inclusivity in the environmental sector or would like to attend any of the above events, please email famke@northwalesriverstrust.org
