Attending the River Improvement Co-Delivery Event
We recently attended the River Improvement Co-Delivery event in Cardiff, a valuable day focused on strengthening collaboration across Wales to improve the health of our rivers. Hosted by Kate Humble and led by Dŵr Cymru, Afonydd Cymru, and the Wildlife Trusts Wales, the event brought together key organisations working in freshwater conservation.
Through a series of keynote talks and workshops, the event highlighted the importance of pooling knowledge, resources, and capacity to deliver more joined-up, effective river restoration efforts. With so many organisations working toward similar goals, the need for coordinated action has never been clearer.
We’re grateful to Afonydd Cymru for organising such a well-structured and purposeful day. It offered a vital opportunity to align priorities, share project ideas, and explore how co-delivery models can help us achieve greater impact for rivers across Wales.
Strong partnerships and shared delivery are essential if we are to meet the scale of the challenges our freshwater systems face.
