Eel Rope Making Workshop

  • Llyn Parc Mawr Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Wales, LL61 6SU United Kingdom (map)

Young eels (elvers) migrating from the ocean into rivers often face barriers like weirs and culverts, blocking their journey and reducing their numbers.

Join our hands-on workshop to craft eel ropes—simple, effective structures that help elvers climb past obstacles. Using natural materials, we’ll weave rough-textured ropes that eels can grip, reconnecting habitats and supporting their survival.

Perfect for nature lovers and conservationists—no experience needed, just a passion for helping wildlife and our rivers!

This workshop is taking place at Llyn Parc Mawr Community Woodland.
