Floating Wetland Project Community Monitoring

This week our community volunteers have started their weekly monitoring of blue-green algae levels at Llyn Maelog, Rhosneigr. Samples will be collected by the volunteers weekly from May - August from three different sections of the lake and sent away for testing.

The results of these samples will help us to determine the levels of blue-green algae in the lake this year and how these levels are affected by it’s environment.

The community group will also be taking part in kick-sampling on May 25th, in order to learn how we can use invertebrates as an indicator of water quality. If you would like to join this session, head to our events page or email poppy@northwalesriverstrust.org for more information

This project if funded by Local Nature Partnerships and Cyngor Ynys Mon.
