Water Testing With The Brownies
Friday evening saw an educational event for the Llanberis Brownies, as our community engagement officer, Oisin, took on the role of a guest speaker. The aim of the evening was to raise awareness among the young members about potential hazards that could harm our precious river system.
The adventure began with an engaging introduction and an important safety talk. Equipped with knowledge and enthusiasm, the group embarked on a guided walk to the enchanting afon Arddu. The journey allowed them to explore the surrounding environment and identify potential threats to the river's health.
Upon reaching the banks of afon Arddu, the Brownies were eager to put their newfound knowledge to practical use. Under the guidance of Oisin, they embarked on a full river health check. Armed with testing kits and curiosity, they delved into the waters to assess the quality and cleanliness of the river.
These interactive sessions play a vital role in educating young people about the pollutants that can impact our rivers. By actively involving them in activities such as water quality testing, we instill a sense of responsibility and empower them to become stewards of their environment.
The Llanberis Brownies' commitment to understanding and protecting our rivers is truly commendable. These experiences not only educate them about the importance of preserving our natural resources but also inspire them to take action within their communities.
