Introducing Our New Biodiversity Assessment Service: Valuing Nature's Richness

We are pleased to announce the launch of our Biodiversity Assessment Service, aimed at promoting the conservation and understanding of nature's extraordinary richness. At a time when biodiversity faces increasing threats, this service serves as a crucial tool for assessing and valuing the natural world's diverse ecosystems.

Biodiversity is the intricate web of life that encompasses all living organisms and their interactions within ecosystems. It plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance, providing essential ecosystem services, and enhancing the resilience of our planet. Unfortunately, biodiversity loss is a global concern, with species declining at an alarming rate due to habitat destruction, climate change, pollution, and other human-induced pressures.

Recognising the urgency to protect and restore biodiversity, our organisation has developed the Biodiversity Assessment Service to provide comprehensive assessments of ecological communities and their habitats. This service offers a multi-faceted approach that combines field surveys, data analysis, and expert knowledge to evaluate the health and diversity of ecosystems.

Our services include:-

Complete River Health Assessment by trained staff. You will recieve a full river health report detailing existing biodiversity and tried and tested methods to enhance and encourage more biodiversity to your land and river.

A wide range of biodiversity assessment services carried out by trained staff. These include:

  • Biodiversity Metric 3.0 for Biodiversity Net Gain – a biodiversity accounting tool used for assessing net change in biodiversity pre to post-intervention or development. Can be used for calculating biodiversity net gain.

  • River Habitat Survey (RHS) – provides a measurement of biodiversity within the river channel itself and along the riparian corridor.

  • NATURE Tool - calculates the impact of land-use change on ecosystem services, including physical and mental health, and biodiversity. NATURE incorporates the results of the Biodiversity Metric when calculating impact.

We also offer assessments and calculations on nutrient savings for farms using Farmscoper.
